The photographer, Susan McConnell, traveled through Paris with two native French guides who steered clear of traditional sites and dished up views that were distinctively Paris and instinctively different. The shots were created from Paris rooftops, savvy department stores and winding streets.
Many of the photographs were taken in an area of Paris known as "Le Marais." Le Marais, traditionally a bourgeois area, is also well-known historically for its architecture. Le Marais spreads across the 3rd and 4th arrondissement, is close to the Seine River and melds into the Jewish Quarter.
Susan's work typically is created in black & white but this collection was created in color because "color dominated everything that I saw in Paris and, therefore, I wanted this body of work to reflect that."
The result of the collection "Have you see Paris like this?" is a view of Paris that most people never see.
